The Solidarity of Scientists and Industries to Defeat the Coronavirus
Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has infected more than 35 million people globally, with more than 1 million deaths recorded by WHO as of Oct 12, 2020. It has caused a tremendous socio-economic and healthcare burden globally. Measures to mitigate its spread are highly dependent on timely, accurate diagnosis. As the second wave of COVID-19 affects different countries of the world, and with winter approaching, we need clear communication about the risks posed by COVID-19 and effective strategies to combat them. The 5th EISA summit will become one of the main summits where significant achievements in SARS-CoV-2 will be presented. This summit makes this possible in accelerating appropriate communication between scientists and industry by supporting Mustafa Science and Technology Foundation. Different prominent figures from science who have participated in EISA 2020, have presented different products that allow SARS-CoV-2 to be detected sensitively and accurately, so that the patients can be isolated early for treatment and to prevent the spread of infection.
